i can't think straight, min. so i'm just gonna go for a bit, i found an RV like one i used over the summer i just didn't want anybody to freak out that i just up and disappeared
[ Min? That's a new one, but it's not bad at all. He can roll with it. ]
Okay. Thanks for letting me know, Akira.
[ That... actually means a lot to him. On the other hand, maybe Akira's also remembering just how poorly Minato coped with someone close to him suddenly disappearing without a word. ]
Text me from time to time though?
[ So he knows you're like. Alive. And existing. ]
And whenever you're back, tell me about that summer. I'd like to hear sometime, if that's okay.
[Despite the vicious snarl his thoughts have become since the first, Minato's ease and understanding, even without all the information, soothes Akira in a way he wasn't expecting. He smiles at his tablet for a long minute before responding, rereading the message a few times.]
show me all your faves.
i expect bullet notes since i can't very well ask for a powerpoint
[ Guess he'll be taking lots of food pics while Akira's away, all with a notepad at the ready each time he remembers something he'd like to share from the year he spent with SEES. ]
I will.
[ Given this agreement, he sees no reason to stop Akira from going on his sabbatical at all. Nevertheless, he can't help but wonder what must have set this ship into motion. A lot's happened recently for Akira. Maybe he'll be ready to share upon his return. ]
[This is the most wholesome fucking thing. Akira may not have notepads, but he's got folders of recipes just waiting to be added to and improved upon, and it's a testament to Minato's trust in him to let him move at his own pace that he's already looking forward to going over those when he sorts the rest of himself out.]
[He might still take some time to really talk about much, but at least he's looking forward to coming back already.]

yeah. somebody's gotta make sure you eat, even if just by text.
absolutely. we should trade stories.

Yeah. I'll send you photos too.
[ He doesn't have to respond to them. They'll just be sent as an acknowledgment that Akira's out there, doing whatever he needs to do.
And in any event, Akira's agreement to share stories is firm reassurance that he'll be back, eventually. ]
Guess I'll have to make a list of them while you're away.

tonight or tomorrow, probably

In any event, he knows that's all he can do: be a reason for Akira to look forward to returning, whenever he decides to do so. ]
All right.
Drive safe, okay?

[He definitely has cat-shaped sticky notes, himself.]
