Honestly, what's with everyone just freely handing out their first name here... But very well, "Yu" it is. If he's being offered a given name, then perhaps he's expected to permit others to use his own in return. ]
Arisato. Arisato Minato.
[ A name delivered while they continue wandering through the wilderness. ]
"Minato" is fine though. It doesn't matter either way.
[ He glances over his shoulder for the first time since they'd headed off. Yu sticks close by, giving Minato the chance to take another look at him. In spite of their current circumstances, the other teen seems composed, even-keeled, the dependable sort. Could be worse as far as island survival goes. His gaze lingers a little longer though; was this truly the first time they'd met?
In any event, they won't need to walk for too long; there's a hut off in the distance, its silhouette partially obscured by wide-leafed bushes.
Minato doesn't speak until his gaze shifts from Yu, focused on the path ahead again. ]
...nice to meet "Yu" then. Does everyone use their given name here?
["It doesn't matter"...? That's an interesting way to word things, and Yu isn't sure he agrees, but -- he's not about to put that challenge to a near-total stranger. It sits in his mind as he watches Minato's back, as they traipse through the humid island setting. When the other boy looks back, Yu's eyebrows lift.
("We both have things we need to finish up...")
What's this familiar feeling...?
He shakes it off easily enough, eyes landing on the hut, offering a small smile to accompany a nod.] "Minato," then. Nice to meet you.
[Hmm. Interesting question, though. Yu doesn't always make a habit out of honorifics, anyway, except maybe with adults...but here?] It might not be everyone, but I'm not sure how useful it is, here. Besides. People come from a lot of different places, not just Japan. That can make it a bit more complicated.
[ It's good to trade names. It makes it much easier to address each other. ]
I guess that's true.
[ Minato's noticed that as well, how it seems this mysterious resort is pulling all sorts of people not just across the world, but across different universes. Maybe it's just easiest to stick with first names. The less complicated things are here, the better.
He walks in silence the rest of the way until they've reached their shelter. The hut looks... fine. It's got some wooden walls and a roof made from straw. It'll hold up outside of any surprise torrential rain. ]
Guess we live here now.
[ A small shrug as he points a thumb at their new home sweet home. ]
[It's strange, how companionable that silence is. Yu is used to someone else taking up the slack in a conversation, and he's always felt good about just listening to other people... So, somehow, the quiet has become a bit unfamiliar.
Not really bad unfamiliar, though.
Surprise flashes across his face as they finally reach the hut -- it's in better shape than he thought, to be honest.]
I guess so, [said with a brief flicker of smile. He steps up to the threshold to take a look around. It's...clearly not been lived in for a while, but it's not so bad. Nothing a little bit of work won't fix.]
Could be worse. Let's see what we can make out of it.
